Start the build

Start building with your package

Your package is a folder with everything your AI needs: what to build, every screen and the code from your prototype. Open it in Claude Code, type start, and the AI takes you through the build one step at a time.

What the AI does with it

It reads the rules in the folder first, then asks you one question at a time. It never asks for passwords or keys in the chat, never opens accounts for you, and asks before anything goes online or costs money.

Have these ready

  • Claude Code, from Install Claude Code. Codex works too: Install Codex.
  • Your package, from the Download package button on your plan page
  • About an hour for the first session. The AI does most of the work, but it asks you questions along the way.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Download your package

On your plan page, click Download package.

You should see: A file ending in .zip, named after your business, in your Downloads folder.

  2. Step 2: Unzip it

    Mac
Double-click the .zip file. A folder with the same name appears next to it.
    Windows
Right-click the .zip file, choose Extract All…, then click Extract.

You should see: A folder that holds Start here.html, AGENTS.md and four numbered folders, from 1-requirements to 4-source-code.

If it looks different: On Windows, double-clicking a zip shows what's inside, but it isn't a real folder yet and the AI can't work in it. Use Extract All… instead.

  3. Step 3: Move the folder to your Documents

Drag the folder into Documents, or anywhere you'll find it again. Keep it there: the AI saves its progress inside it.

You should see: The package folder inside Documents.

  4. Step 4: Open Claude and click Code

Code is at the top of Claude's sidebar.

    Codex
Open ChatGPT and choose Codex from the menu at the top.

You should see: A message box with a row of small controls under it.

  5. Step 5: Choose Local

Click the first control under the message box. In its list, pick the first choice under Local, so Claude works on this computer.

    Codex
Codex sets this in the next step.

You should see: The first control now shows a Local choice.

  6. Step 6: Open your package folder

Click the folder control beside it, choose Open folder…, then find your package folder in Documents and open it.

    Mac
If your Mac asks whether Claude may access files in your Documents folder, click Allow (OK on some Macs).
    Codex
Click Add new project next to Chats and choose your package folder. Start a chat in it, and set Work in to This computer.

You should see: Your package folder's name in the folder control.

If it looks different: Open the package folder itself, not Documents and not the .zip file.

  7. Step 7: Set the mode to Accept edits

Click the mode control in the same row and choose Accept edits. Claude then changes files in this folder without asking each time, and still asks before it runs a command. It remembers this for the folder.

    Codex
Choose Ask for approval in the control under the message box, before your first message. Codex asks before it runs a command; press Enter to approve.

You should see: Accept edits in the row under the message box.

If it looks different: No such choice? Leave the mode as it is. Claude will just ask you more often.

  8. Step 8: Type start and press Enter

You should see: Claude reads your package for a minute or two, greets you by your business's name and asks its first question.

If it looks different: If it doesn't mention your business, or starts building without asking anything, it isn't in your package folder: check the folder control.

  9. Step 9: Answer its questions, one at a time

Answer in your own words. When it wants to run a command, it says what it's for: approve it, or ask what does this do? first. It may begin by installing Node.js, the tool your app runs on. When it needs an account or a key, it sends you to the right page here and waits.

You should see: Each part of the build ends with something you can try yourself, on your own phone or computer.

If it looks different: Never paste a password or a key into the chat. If the AI ever asks for one, say no: it isn't supposed to.

You can close Claude whenever you like: your progress is saved in the folder. Next time, continue where you left off. The first account the AI usually asks for is Supabase.
